Before you start developing your goals for next year, how about spending some time reflecting on the year that is rapidly coming to an end? Doing so can be an interesting exercise that can provide you with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Make a list of the:
- challenges you have overcome
- new things you experienced
- risks you took
- people whose lives you touched
- goals you met
- gifts you shared
- relationships you grew
- fun you had
- anything else that defined the year for you
Do this with a generous and open mind. Even if this year was a hard one for you, there had to have been days that made you feel it was good to be alive. Go through your calendar or planner to tickle your memory. Relax and enjoy this exercise in the spirit of gratitude and self care.
