"When we dream alone it is only a dream, but when many dream together it is the beginning of a new reality."
-Friedensreich Hundertwasser
My husband introduced me to an artist I had never heard of before. We were in Vienna and visited the Museum Hundertwasser. I was moved and inspired by the artist who died in 2000. Throughout the museum were quotes by him that lend themselves to the Self Care journey.
There are different ways in which the quote above can be interpreted. It triggered an idea for me though: forming your own Dream Team to make your dream a reality.
We all have dreams of what we would like to do or ideas about what would make us happier. One way to make these thoughts become a reality is to share them with a group of people who may want to join you, in essence, to dream together.
Your team can be a few trusted friends or acquaintances whom you feel are on your same wavelength. Gather them together and suggest the formation of a Dream Team. Ask them if they would be willing to be your supporters, encouragers, brainstormers, and reality-checkers in exchange for your helping them make their dream come true too.
Develop some parameters for the team: number of meetings, time, what to do if one can't make it, etc. I suggest having a set number of meetings, perhaps four or six. You can always "re-up" for more. Don't get bogged down in administrative trivia.
Your Dream Team differs from a Mastermind Group or a Board of Directors in that it is time-limited and you are each working on one specific dream. Your dream can be personal or professional. As Hundertwasser says, when many dream together it becomes a reality!
